Wheeler Hasburgh Takes 2x National Titles at Rip Curl CanAm - Tofino, B.C.
Wheeler is one of the surfers I have known the longest. I first photographed him when he was surfing for Team Canada back at the 2018 ISA World Juniors in Huntington Beach, CA, and got to know him and his family better at other competitions in early 2019. One thing his mom always suggested to me: "You have to come to the Canadian Championships in Tofino sometime."
Fast forward four years and many surf contests later, and I finally made it to Vancouver Island for seven days. The week and competition ended with lots of cold wind and rain, and Wheeler took 1st place not only in the U18 division, but the pro mens division as well.
